Clinical Will & Continuity of Care
Whilst I sincerely hope this information is never needed, I believe it is important that all clients know there are arrangements in place should I become unexpectedly unable to continue my practice due to serious illness, incapacity or death.
In these circumstances, I have appointed a trusted individual who will activate my Clinical Will. They will notify my appointed Clinical Will Executor, who is bound by the same professional standards of confidentiality that apply to me.
The Clinical Will Executor will contact my current clients to let them know what has happened, answer any practical questions where possible, and provide information about accessing alternative therapeutic support if this is wanted.
Protecting your confidentiality
To protect confidentiality, only the minimum information required for this purpose is held. This consists of a secure list containing client initials and a contact telephone number. This information is stored securely and can only be accessed if it becomes necessary to activate my Clinical Will.
My Clinical Will and the associated client contact information are maintained in accordance with professional ethical standards and UK data protection requirements, and are reviewed regularly to ensure they remain accurate and up to date.
My hope is that these arrangements provide reassurance that, should the unexpected ever occur, every effort will be made to ensure clients are informed with care, compassion and respect, whilst maintaining their privacy and confidentiality.
