About Me
How I came to this work

19+ years
Of learning
People often ask me how I came to do this work. The truth is, it started long before I ever stepped into a training room.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by people. Even as a teenager, I found myself quietly watching, wondering and trying to understand. Why did one person respond to life in one way, while someone else responded completely differently? Why did some people seem able to move through difficult experiences, while others carried them for years? What shaped us? Why did we all experience the world so differently?
Those questions never left me.
Training and experience
I began studying psychology at the age of 18, started my psychotherapy training at 25, and qualified in 1998. Since then, I’ve continued learning because my curiosity has never stopped. Along the way I’ve also trained in trauma, art therapy, play therapy and coaching, but more than anything, I’ve spent 19+ years sitting alongside people, learning from them and continually deepening my understanding of what helps people heal, grow and reconnect with themselves.
"Experiencing my own healing wasn’t just life-changing — it transformed the way I saw myself, the way I related to other people, and the way I experienced the world around me."
A deeply personal place
My passion for this work also comes from a deeply personal place. Like many people, my own life was shaped by difficult experiences growing up. My own journey of healing showed me something I will never forget: that meaningful change really is possible.
It deepened my compassion, expanded my understanding of what it means to be human, and inspired a lifelong passion for learning about the mind, the body, our relationships, and our incredible capacity to heal.
Life happens
Over the years I’ve come to realise that people don’t come to therapy because there’s something wrong with them. They come because life has happened. Sometimes that’s obvious trauma. Sometimes it’s years of stress, overwhelm, anxiety, loss, difficult relationships, burnout, low self-worth, or simply feeling like you’ve lost yourself somewhere along the way.
And sometimes there isn’t one defining event at all — sometimes it’s a lifetime of small experiences that quietly shape how you see yourself, how safe you feel in the world, or how easily you can trust, rest, connect or simply be yourself. Whatever has brought you here, your experiences don’t have to be compared with anyone else’s to matter.
Why I love this work
I genuinely love this work. It is a privilege to sit alongside people as they begin to understand themselves with compassion instead of criticism. To witness someone reconnect with parts of themselves they thought had been lost. To see hope quietly return where there was once only survival. Those moments never stop moving me.
For me, therapy isn’t about giving advice or telling you who you should be. It’s about creating a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can slow down, feel genuinely heard, make sense of your experiences, and begin to reconnect with yourself in a way that feels authentic and lasting.
Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, overwhelm, grief, relationship difficulties, low confidence, life transitions, or simply have a sense that something doesn’t feel quite right, you don’t have to carry it on your own. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you as you explore your story, discover your own strengths, and move towards a life that feels more connected, more meaningful and more like your own.
Outside the therapy room
Outside of the therapy room I'm a mother, a lifelong learner, and someone who finds enormous comfort in nature, quiet mornings and honest conversation. I try to bring all of that — the human as well as the professional — into the work we do together.
